I got to spin the opening set a the WAMU DCist launch party at the Blind SW Arts Club which a funky performance space in an old church building. As the opening DJ I wanted to set a nice smooth, funky vibe that guest could nod their heads to while they enjoyed some food and drink. Here is my set list There are definitely some old favorite, forgotten gems and classic grooves, I was truly in my element on stage that night.
This event was one of the first events under the Girl DJs Rock Collective, where you had me(Grand Dame of the group) opening for the super-dynamic teenage phenom DJ Beauty and the Beatz. Of course when Beatz step behind the 1200s she set it off with her party set. I even jumped on the mic to play hype-woman for a bit.
